“From the moment I entered The Spa at Séc-he, the calming, fragrant atmosphere began to soothe the tension from my flight to sun-drenched Palm Springs. The city itself emanates a welcoming air of calm. The expansive 73,000-square-foot sanctuary space unfolded with a thoughtful, inviting flow during my brief orientation. Soft desert light filtered through the spa’s contemporary architecture, with natural stone and splashes of colorful artwork adorning the walls. The sound of cascading water features seduced my mind, but I had already surrendered to the place. “Rising from the legendary Agua Caliente Hot Mineral Spring is a life-giving source that has flowed from a 12,000-year-old aquifer for countless generations. It’s called Séc-he, one of the most sacred local resources, and it is watched over by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, who have an enduring presence in the area’s history.
